UR the CURE

Every 28 mins, someone in Australia is diagnosed with blood cancer. For many, a stem cell transplant from a stranger is their only hope. We need young Australians like you to help.

Together, UR the CURE and Strength to Give are calling young Australians to put their hand up to save a life.

Together, UR the CURE and Strength to Give are calling young Australians to put their hand up to save a life.

UR the Cure, initiated in 2015 by Hodgkin’s Lymphoma survivor Pamela Bousejean, is a volunteer-led entity accredited by the ACNC. In collaboration with Strength to Give, the organisation focuses on bolstering the blood stem cell donor registry. It prioritises engaging local young men and individuals from diverse backgrounds to register as potential donors, aiming to connect patients with blood cancers and disorders to their potential cure through stem cell transplants. Their efforts are instrumental in the ongoing search for matches, highlighting their commitment to changing lives.

What do I need to know before I sign up?

Stem cell donation is a safe and simple process that can potentially cure life-threatening diseases. Before you register, make sure you look around our site to learn more and become fully committed to being a donor should you get the call to save someone’s life.

Signing up means:

  • You are committing to donate to anyone, globally needing a match.
  • You’re committed to being available if called upon.
  • We’ll stay in contact, keeping you informed and ready for the call.

Donation likelihood:

  • Matches are rare; they are based on genetic compatibility.
  • BUT while not everyone will donate, your registration increases chances for those in need.

If you're a match:

  • We’ll call you to let you know!
  • Donation involves a simple procedure with minimal discomfort.
  • We support you throughout, ensuring top medical care and thorough information.
